I was listening to an old album by Barorisi Ba
Morena as I reflect on the changes of apostolic music. The album is titled:
“TSA BAPOSTOLA” which is the best album of all time by BARORISI. This was when
Ntate Tlou still stuck to traditional apostolic before they changed to
contemporary.
I
find it interesting that even today there is no choir across the beautiful Southern Africa that can deliver postola like Barorisi Ba
Morena did on this album. Every song moves you which not what you can claim in
todays apostolic recordings. Even Barorisi Ba Morena cant record the same
quality of postola as they did during the times of “TSA BAPOSTOLA”.
Incase
you are still lost, the album had songs like:
SIDE 1: Hambani’ Kancane, Morena O Re Thuse,
Sefefo Sa Moya, Lihle Le Zulu, Hoja Ke
Sena Wena
SIDE 2: Bonga Bonga, Ketla Kele Feela-Feela, Uyeza
Ujesu, Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Glory,
Glory.
PS: I am not Zulu, if
there any errors in words please take them up with Gallo. I just re-wrote. My
favorite songs highlighted.
I’ve had this cassette,
yes…thanks for laughing! Anyway… I had this cassette for a very long time and
it does not get old nor boring. In fact it competes very well and always wins
against these new recording by choirs.
The most beautiful thing
about this album is that you can hear that the choir was very small when going
into studio but the must, like any true apostolic sound, is still excellent
years later since recording.
We will always miss such
talent and here is to hoping that God sends us more talented minds in apostolic
music NOT clap n tap.
